Daniel Danxia Xie Daniel Xie is a nonresident visiting research fellow at the Peterson Institute and is a PhD student in economics at the University of Chicago. He began his association with the Institute as a research analyst from 2008 to August 2010 working with Senior Fellows Morris Goldstein and Edwin M. Truman. His main research interests are open-economy macroeconomics and finance. He has coauthored several academic articles, including "The US Credit Crisis and Spillovers to Asia," Asian Economic Policy Review (with Morris Goldstein); "The Impact of the Financial Crisis on Asia," Proceedings of the First Asia Economic Policy Conference, Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco (with Morris Goldstein); and "Estimation of De Facto Flexibility Parameter and Basket Weights in Evolving Exchange Rate Regimes," American Economic Review P&P (forthcoming, with Jeffrey Frankel). He holds a master''s degree in public policy from Harvard University, with a concentration in international trade and finance. He cofounded the Harvard US-China Economic Interaction Forum, which intends to build a high-profile platform for distinguished scholars, policymakers, and professionals to discuss important economic issues between the United States and China. |
